Privacy Policy

Tomoni Labs, LLC operates Tollie. Here’s what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account and profile: email, account ID, name, bio, gender, birthday, profile photo, and learning preferences you provide, including information shared through Apple or Google sign-in.
• Conversations: messages, voice recordings, transcripts, uploaded and generated images, saved phrases, learning progress, and content reports.
• Purchases and app activity: transactions, subscription status, gem balances, device and app details, connection information, timestamps, and error logs. If you enable notifications, we collect delivery identifiers and preferences. Apple handles payments; we do not receive your full card details.

2. How we use it

We use this information to run your account, personalize language practice, provide AI conversations and media, save progress, deliver purchases and notifications, offer support, and prevent misuse.

3. AI processing

All Tollie characters are fictional AI. There is no public user-generated content or user-to-user messaging. Your conversations and uploads are not visible to other users.

To provide AI features, we share:

• OpenAI: messages, relevant chat history, profile context (name, bio, gender, Korean level, and age-safety context), and photos or voice messages you send. These support replies, learning feedback, image processing and generation, transcription, speech, and safety checks.
• ElevenLabs: text for spoken replies. Voice Hangouts also share your microphone audio, transcripts, relevant chat history, and the same profile context to hold the conversation.

We do not use your content to train AI models. Training data sharing with both providers is disabled for new requests from September 17, 2026. This does not change earlier processing. Providers may retain limited records for operations, security, or legal reasons.

Before you use AI features, an in-app prompt explains this sharing and asks you to agree. AI can make mistakes; avoid sharing sensitive information.

4. Photos and voice

Photos and microphone audio are shared with AI providers only when you choose those features. Selfie together asks separately before sending your selected photo and a character reference to OpenAI. Choosing a profile photo alone does not start generation. Upload only photos you have permission to use.

Uploaded photos and generated images are stored privately with your account until account deletion. We do not use them to verify your identity.

5. Other sharing and tracking

Service providers help with accounts, storage, purchases, notifications, and support. They receive the information needed for their work and must protect it consistently with this policy. We may also share information where required by law or needed to address fraud, abuse, or safety threats.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking. Read more in the OpenAI and ElevenLabs privacy policies.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep information as needed to provide your account and features. Delete your account and associated content in Profile → Settings → Delete account. Some billing, security, legal, or backup records may remain where necessary. Deleting the app does not delete your account or cancel an Apple subscription.

7. Your choices and rights

Edit your profile in Tollie and manage camera, microphone, photo, and notification permissions in device Settings.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict use of your data, withdraw consent, or contact a privacy authority. Email us to make a request; we may verify account ownership.

8. Age and security

Follow the app store age rating and local consent requirements, including parental permission where needed. Parents can contact us to review and remove information provided without required consent.

We use safeguards to protect your data, but no service can guarantee complete security. Data may be processed in the US and other countries where our providers operate, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

9. Updates and contact

We’ll update this page and notify you of material changes. We’ll ask before new processing that requires permission.
